About

About a year before my mom passed away, she constantly talked about starting her own blog. She had such eloquence in the way she wrote, and she could convey her thoughts and the things God placed on her heart most effectively in writing. The way she wrote was beautiful, but even more so, her passions and the person she was, was breathtaking. I have never been more inspired and encouraged by one person in my entire life, and it just so happens that I had the honor of calling her my mother. I had the chance to learn from her example for 23 years and she taught me more than I could even begin to share. After she died, I felt this longing to carry on what she always wanted to start. I don’t at all consider myself to be even close to the writer my mom was, but her heart in everything was to just be genuine and open, regardless of how flawed and imperfect that was sometimes. What made my mom and her story so beautiful was that it was completely engulfed by grace. She had this way about her that was usually either frazzled or stressed by the everyday things, but at the same time she had an unmistakable peace that came solely from knowing who she was in Jesus. She had a faith like I’ve never seen in anyone. One that was so fervent and so unrelenting you couldn’t help but feel it too. Not only did she have a faith and a devotion to Jesus that I strive to have someday, she also had such a deep wisdom that came from loving and seeking God in every way that she possibly could. There are multiple reasons I wanted to do this, but mainly, my hope is to pick up where she left off. So Momma, this is for you.
